Best new restaurants in Singapore for June 2021

We are about to get back into the swing of dining out, so what better way to celebrate than with a list of the hottest new tables in town.


How about kicking off your dining in again pleasure at a multi-award-winning Japanese restaurant? Sound good? Then it's Shinsora for you. Chef-owners Sky Tai Koon Siang and Leon Yap are both World Sushi Cup Champions and have brought their considerable know-how to a small but mighty 10-seater spot at Odean Towers. What should you look forward to? Well, the hand roll topped with minced Nagasaki tuna belly, pickled radish, Kaluga Hybrid caviar, uni and shaved dried fermented tuna was one of the aforementioned award-winning creations as is the highly indulgent shima-aji sushi, consisting of flamed strip jack topped with house-cured daikon, yuzu miso paste, caviar and gold leaf. 



I will never forget my trip to Peru. Beautiful scenery, friendly people and most importantly - mouth-wateringly delicious food. Well, while a trip there in the foreseeable future seems unlikely, we have the next best thing with Canchita. The new kid on the Dempsey Hill block, Tamara Chávez - the chef and owner, has said they have created a menu that hopes to inspire people to keep coming back. So what to come back for? The range of fresh ceviche for one, the classic nachos and quesadillas and of course, the fresh and fiery cocktails. 



From Peru and now to Spain - meet Asador - one of the East Coast's chichest new offerings. This new eatery offers up some classic Spanish favourites including Jamon Iberico, Prawns in oil and grilled Octopus alongside interesting additions like beef and pork meatballs with mashed potatoes and braised chorizo with wine.
