Emirates’ Business Class Cabin Gets A Multi-Million Dollar Upgrade

The New Cabins Will Feature A Snack Bar, Wider Lie-Flat Seats, And Sleeker Overhead Storage

Emirates has just dropped a whopping US$ 150 million to give all ten of their existing Boeing 777-200LR aircrafts major upgrades and a fresh new look. The business class cabin on these aircrafts will be retrofitted with new wider seats, laid out in a 2-2-2 configuration. With this new layout that aims to give the cabin an " airier and more spacious feel", not only will the middle seat be finally done away with but so will those obstructive overhead bins in the centre of the cabin.

The newly refurbished seats now claims to be two inches wider and can be fully reclined flat for a more restful sleep. The seats will also come with touchscreen controls for their award-winning inflight entertainment system, a variety of personal lighting options, privacy panels between seats, a shoe stowage area, footrest as well as a personal mini-bar. With everything within arm's length, the only thing missing is a personal bathroom.

For a more unique touch, the make-over will also introduce a new 'mini lounge' social area that will include a self-serve bar featuring snacks such as crisps, sandwiches and fruit, as well as drinks. Though not as extravagant as the first class bar, this new feature upgrade is exclusive to the Boeing 777-200L fleet.

The airline expects all ten of the long-rage Boeing 777-200L fleet to be refreshed by the end of 2018.
