Explore Malaysia with Veuve Clicquot’s Solaire Journeys

In 2024, Veuve Clicquot kicks off its Solaire Journeys, a luxurious travel experience aboard Belmond trains spanning three continents.

Journey through Malaysia's jungles on the Eastern & Oriental, traverse Europe on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, and explore Machu Picchu with the Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer. Indulge in Veuve Clicquot's prestigious cuvées paired with exquisite dining as you chase cinematic sunsets and unique sunrises.

Singapore to Malaysia

In 1859, Veuve Clicquot’s iconic bottles embarked on their maiden voyage to Singapore. Now, the Asian leg of the Solaire Journey reimagines this historic route. Over three nights, guests luxuriate in cherrywood cabins, savouring champagne brunches and intimate cuvée tastings. Daytime excursions include exploring Taman Negara National Park and indulging in Penang’s cultural delights. Culminating in a gala dinner by Michelin-starred Chef André Chiang, this journey blends history, luxury, and adventure seamlessly.

On Day 1 in Singapore, kick off with a champagne brunch at CÉ LA VI rooftop bar before boarding the Eastern & Oriental Express. Join Veuve Clicquot Cellar Master Didier Mariotti for a sunset aperitif and enjoy live music. Savor a sustainable Asian fusion dinner by Chef André Chiang, accompanied by a vertical tasting of rare Veuve Clicquot vintages.

On Day 2 at Taman Negara National Park, wake up to a jungle sunrise and a Champagne breakfast on board. Explore the park's dense jungle and diverse wildlife with a choice of tours: tiger conservation, nature photography, or cave exploration. Enjoy champagne amidst this incredible scenery, then return for an elegant lunch on the train. Spend the afternoon playing board games, sampling teas, or admiring the scenery. End the day with a Veuve Clicquot cuvée tasting and a Garden Gastronomy dinner.

On Day 3 in Penang, start with breakfast in your cabin and explore the vintage carriages. Join a reserve wine tasting and quiz if you fancy. After a traditional lunch, disembark at Penang Island. Choose from cultural excursions like exploring Georgetown Old Quarter, a cookery class, or a tri-shaw ride for independent exploration. In the evening, enjoy a spectacular gala dinner with live music and a DJ before passing by Kuala Lumpur's bright lights.

On the last day, wake up early for a farewell breakfast featuring Champagne, eggs, caviar, and pastries. As we arrive in Singapore, it’s time to bid adieu to the Eastern & Oriental Express, carrying with you cherished memories of an unforgettable journey.

Meet Didier Mariotti, the 11th Cellar Master at Veuve Clicquot, the inheritor of centuries-old winemaking wisdom. With roots in Lausanne's winemaking family, Didier's journey began in Reims with Moët & Chandon, shaping his career from Nicolas Feuillatte to Mumm. Now, he shares Veuve Clicquot's sparkling stories on the Solaire Journeys, revealing the essence of each prestigious cuvée.

The Singapore to Malaysia journey takes place from April 22–25, 2024. For more information, visit Veuve Clicquot.
