Hello Bitcoin: The Chedi Andermatt now accepting cryptocurrency for hotel stays

The power of bitcoin grows and grows.
In the Swiss luxury and lifestyle hotel The Chedi Andermatt guests can now pay with two of the most popular cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum. With the introduction of this innovative new payment option The Chedi Andermatt is offering another modern technology to its guests. The implementation is in partnership with payment service provider Worldline and the Swiss cryptocurrency service provider Bitcoin Suisse.
Popular, safe and convenient payment – four years ago The Chedi Andermatt first started thinking about accepting cryptocurrencies as a service to guests. However, in order for this to happen the transactions needed to be made as secure as possible and risky rate fluctuations needed to be circumvented. With WL Crypto Payments from Worldline, these conditions have now been met. As an innovative hotel partner, The Chedi Andermatt is one of the first select Swiss hotels with Worldline cryptocurrency infrastructure at the front desk. “We’ve known for a long time that cryptocurrencies have a future in the hotel business. As cryptocurrency payments become ever more widespread and gain ever more acceptance, we are proud to be one of the first Swiss luxury hotels to offer guests secure cryptocurrency payment options. This makes a clear statement to our clientele that we are open to new technologies, as we offer this new payment experience as an additional service,” explains Jean-Yves Blatt, General Manager of The Chedi Andermatt.
Starting at an amount of CHF 200.00 or SG$480, hotel guests can pay at the front desk of The Chedi Andermatt with Bitcoin and Ethereum just as easily as they can with conventional means of payment. WL Crypto Payments lets hotels accept payments in cryptocurrencies without subjecting guests to volatility risk, as the cryptotransactions are immediately converted into Swiss francs following confirmation.
‘In Andermatt Swiss Alps we strive to offer the very best personalised service to our guests, whether that be at either one of our beautiful hotels – The Chedi Andermatt and Radisson Blu – on the slopes and at one of our restaurants. Therefore, we’re thrilled that The Chedi Andermatt continues to set new standards of luxury hospitality in Switzerland by being one of the first five-star hotels to accept cryptocurrency' finalised Stefan Kern Chief Communications Officer at Andermatt Swiss Alps
