Preferred Hotels & Resorts Strengthens Female Leadership

A Dream Team Helmed By Three New Female Executives

While family-owned or operated companies often run the risk of being too constrained by legacy, this is hardly the case with Preferred Hotels & Resorts where cultural vision and innovation has been driven and kept up-to-date constantly under CEO, Lindsey Ueberroth’s leadership. The Preferred Hotels & Resorts as established themselves as an iconic global hospitality brand, carving out a niche in authentic and independent luxury hotel travel. Today, the company represents more than 650 independent hotels, resorts, residences, and small hotel groups spanning 85 countries around the world.

Since its foundation on January 29, 1968, the Preferred brand has led the way in independent luxury hospitality. In the 14 years since the Ueberroth family took ownership, the brand has accelerated its expansion by marking first-time presence in more than 30 new countries and doubling the size of its global portfolio. To remain ahead of competition, the company launched I Prefer℠ Hotel Rewards, the world’s first global points-based guest loyalty program for independent hotels; and curated a variety of other niche programs to cater to the needs of family, LGBT, and golf travellers.

The recent announcement of three executive appointments marks a significant shift in the leadership structure of the family-owned and operated company and continues their penchant for constantly making big leaps. The baton has been passed on to three new female executives with the promotion of Michelle Woodley to president; Kristie Goshow to Chief Marketing Officer; and Caroline Michaud as Executive Vice President of corporate communications and publication relations.

With all the success the Preferred Hotels & Resorts has amassed over the years, it will be exciting to see the fresh new direction that the new executive dream team, all with decades of experience leading innovative strategies for the travel and hospitality industries, will take to bring the brand to greater heights.
