The Macallan Unveil A Whole New Look

It's all change over at Macallan.
Whisky lovers will know that when it comes to having a wee drum, there's no better choice than with Macallan. Purveyor of fine whiskey from Scotland from 1824, Macallan is a brand steeped in history, as one of the very first licensed whisky distillers in Scotland it has since become synonymous with producing some of the world's finest single malts.
But fresh for 2018 come a whole wave of changes for the heritage brand, the first one being a bold and intuitive new bottle shape for across their range of single malts. So, what's new? Well, firstly there's the new anti-refill enclosure and the brilliant anti-counterfeit technology to ensure you really are getting what you are paying for. Then there's the actual bottle shape - the new design features a chevron cut to the bottle, with a broader shoulder sure to please their discerning clientele.
Speaking of the re-design, Glen Gribbon, Marketing Director at The Macallan said: “With this bold new design we want to do justice to the extraordinary whisky inside the bottle which, of course, is what we at The Macallan and every whisky fan worldwide really cares about. We think the new bottle looks as good in a world-class bar as it does on a table at home being shared with friends. In addition, we have invested thousands in developing anti-refill and anti-counterfeit technology to help protect consumers.”
Think that's all the news for today from Macallan? Think again as there's been a spot of re-branding over at the whisky HQ. The Fine Oak Range, which was launched in 2004 and is developed using ex-bourbon casks as well as American and European Sherry-seasoned casks, has been renamed Triple Cask Matured, to bring it into line with the Sherry Oak and Double Cask lines.
Talking about this re-branding, Glen Gribbon added, “We want to make it easy for our fans to select a whisky that’s right for them. What could be simpler than one, two, or three cask types? By consolidating our core range to Sherry Oak, Double Cask and Triple Cask Matured we’re able to highlight the variety of whisky coming out of our distillery and also to encourage new and existing fans to try The Macallan across a variety of occasions.”
