Bring the celebrations home.
While it's difficult to keep track of the days at the moment, one date worth paying attention to is Fathers Day which is just around the corner, on the 21st June. So, unless you are brave enough to deal with husband or dad in a sulk during stay at home, you had better get something special planned and if the way to his heart is through his stomach, then these delicious Fathers Day meals are sure to pop a smile on his face.
Celebrating Fathers Day from the 19th to 21st June, The Knolls over at Capella have quite the treats in store for Daddy dearest. There's a Short Rib set with 12-hour Braised O'Connor Angus Beef Short Ribs or the Angus Beef Set with port wine sauce. Each choice comes with some delicious freshly baked breads and a range of starters and puddings. Oh, and for the beer loving daddy, the menus can also be paired with either Asahi or Guinness beers.
If pie's are what gets pops' pulse racing then get booking at Cure. Famed for his Irish beef cheek and Guinness pie, all of the ingredients are from hand-picked local farms. But if you fancy hitting a double whammy, all the profits from the Chicken Mushroom and Leek Pie are going to FoodBank Singapore. Each pie is priced at just $40, with your choice of homemade bread rolls with bacon butter and whipped leek mashed potatoes. Yum.
Feeling like treating Dad? Then it's got to be Luke's. While the meat comes uncooked, you can be assured it's some of the finest beef and lamb you can get your hands on and their sides are to die for and include smoked trout dip, clam chowder and cornbread muffins and you can ever order some of their fine wines to wash it all down with and really, what could be better than that.
What better way to celebrate than with some simple yet scrummy dim sum from everyone's fave, Din Tai Fung. They are delivering all their usual favourites as well as the new Tianjin Cabbage and Pork boiled dumplings and the limited-edition Fried Rice with Grilled Bak Kwa which quite frankly, sounds to die for.
They say that sharing is caring which makes a lot of the dishes at Wolfgang's so ideal for Fathers day. Known for their 28-day aged beef which is certified USDA Prime, the flavour really has to be tasted to be believed. So if you fancy sharing, the Porterhouse can be shared for up to four people or if that's not your deal, then the New York Sirloin Steak Sandwich is a tasty option as are the crab cakes and the simple steak frites.
