Yachts: The new way to travel

What could be better than getting the whole family together on a floating paradise?
When you think about it, what are holidays really all about? They’re about exploring new surroundings, relaxing and, most importantly, spending time with loved ones and family. Add in a heavy sprinkle of luxury and you have got the perfect set-up, which, coincidentally, is where yachting comes in. No more waiting for taxi’s and arguments over who carries what bag, no more packing and unpacking as you move from place to place – the beauty of the yachting holiday is the sheer ability to arrive and relax and let the crew and boat do the hard work as you work on resting, recharging and re-grouping.
But our borders are still closed we hear you cry, well that’s no problem in the yacht world as there are regulations that allow yacht owners to still travel beyond Singapore for exploration under certain circumstances.
Over at Simpsons Marine, one of Asia’s largest yacht dealers, they work together with Sanlorenzo and Bluegame to guide potential clients hand-in-hand on the exciting journey of creating their dream yacht. Thanks to the fact that the Sanlorenzo and Bluegame offer unparalleled made to measure expertise, no yacht is the same and both brands are world-renowned for their excellent craftsmanship and bespoke qualities.
An introduction to the brands
Sanlorenzo

With yacht building at the pinnacle of its creativity, we spoke to Simpsons Marine, one of Asia’s largest yacht dealers, about the Sanlorenzo and Bluegame boats and how yachting is the perfect solution for family holidays for years to come.
The Yachts
Bluegame BGX70
If you have innovation on your yacht must-have list, then the Bluegame BGX70 gets a tick. Built according to the latest and most advanced building techniques the interiors are built using 100% recyclable moulds, composite materials, FSC certified woods, all-LED lighting, zero impact sustainable leather and formaldehyde-free furniture.
When it comes to design, the Bluegame interiors are the best money can buy, made to the exact specifications of the owners and created by expert craftsmen of the Iseo Lake area – famed for high-quality boat building.
It’s not just the aesthetics that can be personalised either, with the boat offering a layout option to turn 2/3 of the interiors into a private owners space if so desired and offers the most up-to-date house automation to offer the very best in assisted living for all guests and owners. At 70ft, its also the perfect yacht for those dipping their toe in boat ownership for the first time.
Sanlorenzo SX88
Developed in 2017, the Sanlorenzo SX88 is a yacht with the younger generation in mind thanks to its ability to open up and host a unique number of guests.
Thanks to a high, seaworthy bow, the yacht offers wide open spaces and large glass windows giving off an inside-outside feel. The superstructure is marked out by the widest glassed surfaces and is painted in dark shade to reduce the volume perception and to balance the “full” of the superstructure and the “empty” of the windows.
While the steering is placed on the top deck, as with all super yachts, the lack of a helm allows the main deck to be totally free and arranged as either an Owner’s cabin or to stay empty for a wide variety of uses. Talking about the main deck –it can be opened up to various, bespoke layouts from stern to bow, creating the look and feel of a modern loft which is something that has never been seen before on a 27m yacht. The fore area of the main deck offers yet more options for personalisation with an extended sunbathing area combined with a functional living area.
While all this might seem enough and more, it’s the stern where this unique boat really comes into its own, providing a ‘beach club’ area where a 4.5m tender, jet ski, seabob, jetley flyer, wakeboard and stand up paddle – complete with crane for watercrafts sits. From sunbathing, entertaining to entertainment – this really is the yacht that has it all.
Sanlorenzo SX76
When talking about the Sanlorenzo SX76, Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International said: “The SX76 is a splendid interpretation of the relationship between man and the sea.” High praise indeed so just what did this mighty vessel do to deserve such high praise? Well, proving that it is the ultimate boat for families and large get-togethers, the beauty of the SX76 lies in its ability to be totally personalised as per the owners needs and wants.
When it comes to furnishings, there are limitless bespoke options with owners not only being able to place pieces where they wish, but by choosing the furnishing choices too. When it comes to space, convertible proves key with this boat as multiple spaces are built capable to transform, including the flybridge, which can be changed thanks to clever use of Strataglass panels that can enclose the entire stern area for a more private or protected space as the need sees fit.
Living areas are all placed on the lower deck, surrounding the large master suite at the yacht’s centre with the piece de resistance being the unique staircase designed especially by Lissoni for the boat.
Last, but certainly not least is the fact that this clever boat has a whole host of eco-friendly features including LED lighting, sustainable leather, efficient hull and propulsion and thermal insulation.
Sanlorenzo 62STEEL Superyacht
Combining timeless design with the very best and most innovative technological features, this timeless yacht comes in at 62m and is capable of hosting 12 guests and 14 crew.
When it comes to making this superyacht truly you own, there are an impressive three interior layout options which allows the 12 guests in either a five or six room configuration. Outside, there are two top deck profile options which see either a fully enclosed top deck to create a second, private deck and the option of an open sun deck with a veranda under the mast.
When it comes to play there’s a jacuzzi plunge pool on the sun deck, swimming pool on the main deck, spa, cinema, helipad and full beach club.
