Kyra Lounge Opens at Hong Kong International Airport

A new era of airport hospitality begins.

Today marks the grand opening of Kyra Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), a collaborative venture by Airport Dimensions, SSP, and Travel Food Services (TFS). This new lounge brand aims to redefine airport hospitality, offering a luxurious and tranquil retreat for travelers in Terminal 1.

Located near Gate 23, Kyra Lounge spans 744 square meters and accommodates over 150 guests, providing a serene oasis amidst the bustling airport environment. The lounge’s design, filled with natural light and thoughtful interiors, ensures a calming preflight experience by aligning guests with nature's rhythms.

Kyra Lounge is a new-to-market brand created by Airport Dimensions, SSP, and TFS, combining their expertise to offer top-tier airport hospitality across the APAC region. Given the increasing passenger traffic at HKIA, the launch of Kyra Lounge comes at a perfect time to meet the growing demand for quality airport experiences. The lounge is part of the Priority Pass and LoungeKey networks and is also available to all travelers at HKIA through online or on-site entry purchases.

Designed in collaboration with Studio 5 International, Kyra Lounge’s interiors draw inspiration from the daily cycles of the sun and nature. The lounge features distinct areas, from a vibrant bar to a tranquil relaxation zone, catering to different energy levels. The color scheme, ranging from warm beiges to dark greens, captures the beauty of sunrise to sunset. Key design elements include dynamic lighting mimicking sunlight, a wave-like ceiling feature, and a central fireplace, creating a multi-sensory experience. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of aircraft and mountains, blending indoor tranquility with outdoor beauty.

A highlight of Kyra Lounge is its premium food and beverage offering, curated by SSP and TFS. The menu includes a range of local and international dishes, such as classic Chinese congee, Cantonese dim sum like BBQ Char Sui buns, and Hong Kong street food favorites like Fish Siu Mai and Traditional Curry Fishballs. Western-inspired dishes, including baked macaroni cheese and couscous salad, provide additional variety. The well-stocked bar offers a selection of premium beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks, along with specially crafted cocktails and mocktails like the "Fragrant Harbour" and "Kowloon Sunrise," inspired by Hong Kong's landscape and history.

Kyra Lounge caters to diverse traveler needs with dedicated relaxation areas, productivity zones, and a sound-proof booth. The dining area and central bar, made from reclaimed typhoon-damaged wood, add regional character and embody resilience and sustainability principles. In partnership with Digital Art Fair, digital artworks by Hong Kong-based collective The Chinese Dictionary enhance the lounge experience, showcasing digital storytelling and creativity.

Sustainability is a core focus of Kyra Lounge. Solar fins on the windows regulate temperature, reducing air conditioning needs, while an innovative daylight harvesting system adjusts artificial light based on natural light availability, saving energy and enhancing comfort. Regionally manufactured furniture reduces the carbon footprint, further supporting eco-conscious practices. Kyra Lounge at HKIA sets a new standard for airport hospitality, combining luxurious design, top-notch amenities, and a strong commitment to sustainability, making it a must-visit for travelers seeking comfort and tranquility.
