Forget the staycay, welcome to the daycay

Or as we like to call it, a day of delights
After nearly two years of various forms of lockdowns, we all know the drill when it comes to staycations. So, if you have done the various rounds and offers that Singapore’s many hotels have to offer when it comes to stays, here is something new to entice you.
DayAway is the brainchild of marketing and branding expert Martha Waslen, who, after stints at Ralph Lauren and Luxola, realised a gap in the market for luxury day experiences at some of Singapore’s finest hotels. Speaking of her decision to launch DayAway, Waslen said: “Over the last year, my family often walked the grounds of our favourite hotels in Singapore as a diversion and I noticed all these beautiful pools, gyms, restaurants and bars were empty. Hotels have been trying to increase revenue generated by this kind of ancillary inventory for nearly a decade but either lacked the technology to sell these spaces effectively or the marketing channels to engage with the local community. DayAway is the win-win solution to filling these gaps and supporting the hospitality industry while offering exciting new daytime experiences for its guests.”
So how does it work? Well, to put it simply, if you feel like you need a bit of R&R ( and with the current state of homeschooling, who can blame you) all you need to do is go onto the site and book an experience that fits your needs and budgets. Currently DayAway are collaborating with Raffles Hotel, The Fullerton Hotel and Fullerton Bay, Intercontinental Singapore and Fairmont Hotel, with 30 more hotels set to join the group in coming months. One of the DayAway’s current favourite offers is the Sling and Swim experience at Raffles which, for just $100 gives you three hours of pool time, gym access and $20 credit at the Pool Bar. Not long enough for you? Well, there’s also a six-hour access to a loft suite with Marina Bay views at The Fullerton Hotel with a three-tier afternoon tea service for four – all for $648.
Speaking of the latest collaboration, Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts said: “We are delighted to partner with DayAway to offer exclusive access to the manifold delights of our landmark luxury hotels, The Fullerton Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore. Our exclusive experiences with DayAway offer the perfect respite for those seeking a pampering retreat while immersing in luxurious comfort, flavourful cuisines and exceptional Fullerton hospitality, set against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay”
While Marcus Hanna, Managing Director at Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford added: “The response to our inaugural selection of experiences curated by DayAway has been overwhelmingly positive. The specially curated Cabana and Cocktails experience has been very well received resulting in repeat bookings. The enthusiastic feedback we have obtained from DayAway’s users is a clear indication that we are indeed addressing the right demand in the local market by offering exciting new ways for people in Singapore to enjoy our property.”
