The Best Beauty Investment Products

What to really splurge on.

With so many new products hitting the market on a daily basis, sometimes it's hard to know what to really spend our hard earned pennies on. Well, wonder no more as we reveal the products really worth their weight in gold.

La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream

Over the course of my time as a journalist, I have tried probably thousands of creams ranging from eye wateringly expensive to cheap as chips and I can honestly say that although this cream hits a little harder on the wallet, it is worth every dime and cent. Doing exactly what it says it does, the gorgeously scented cream sinks into the skin effortlessly, leaving skin glowing with hydration. When it comes to the wrinkles, within just 10 days I could see a difference in my skin tone with my face feeling more supple and rested - which is quite the feat given the presence of a four month old baby at home.

Creme de la Mer Lip Balm

You might think it's crazy to spend serious money on lip balm but that obviously means you haven't tried this Creme de la Mer number. Hailed as the ultimate lip fixer by those in the know, give it the driest, flakiest, most parched lips and it can make them soft and supple in a flash. What's more, thanks to the Creme de la Mer formula, when used daily it wards off wrinkles too.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion

If you don't use toner, then you need this in your life and if you do use toner, then you need to swap and use this. As a big Sisley fan, I love the way the natural ingredients of rose and cornflower soothe the skin while witch hazel calms down any redness. What's more, with regular use, this little beauty keeps the skin sparklingly clean and prepares your face for your night cream making it more effective which can never be a bad thing.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Give a girl a good foundation and she can take over the world. While we know that's not exactly how that quote goes, we think it should because a good foundation can truly transform your look and is worth its weight in gold. This little beauty from NARS sinks into the skin effortlessly, brightens the skin and covers just enough to give you a good old glow. What's more, it doesn't come off on your clothes like others do making it pretty darn perfect in our books.

La Prairie Cellular Hand Cream

Until they invent a hand lift, I am going to keep slathering on this miracle cream, and of course, keep my mits out of the sun. Not only does it gently exfoliate the skin, it also deeply moisturises to keep hands supple and age spots at bay.

Refa Carat Massager

So many things happen to your body when you hit 30, but one of them seems to be that your ability to flush out toxins slows down (hello three day hangovers.) One thing that never leaves my side after a heavy weekend, flight or just a long week is the Refa Carat Massager now available at Sephora. Using micro-current technology, as you roll it over your skin it gives a lymphatic massage to your face and body if you so wish, helping with collagen production and to firm up the skins elasticity. What's more, as its powered by light you don't need to worry about charging it - perfect.

Foreo Luna 2 For Combination Skin

If you want good skin, you should never scrimp on cleaning - fact. The best part of needing clean skin is that these days there are literally dozens of products to help you with this but the absolute best is the Foreo Luna 2. This little beauty gets all of the dirt and grim out of your face,  perfect for removing the last traces of make-up and even uses low frequency waves to help with signs of aging. Available at Sephora.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

Of all the products on this list, if this one ever got discontinued it would seriously affect our lives. Not crazy expensive but still a small pinch, this is hands down the best day moisturiser we have ever used. Rich in unique anti-aging properties and Vitamin E, this little gem soothes and deeply moisturises while delivering glowing, younger looking skin in a matter of days.

La Prairie Anti Aging Eye Cream

Yes we know La Prairie features on this list several times but the reasons are simple: One they are an investment and two they really, really work. Over the course of my career I have tried dozens of eye creams and had nearly given up, thinking nothing truly made a difference, until I met this beauty from La Prairie. It rids dark circles and puffiness in a flash while fine lines and wrinkles are given the boot after just a couple of weeks meaning now, this cream never leaves my side.

Eve Lom Radiance Face Oil

Some people are scared to use oils, thinking they might break out but to them I say - a good oil can change your skin. With particularly dehydrated skin, I am a big oil advocate and I'm yet to find one better than Eve Lom's Radiance Face Oil. The perfect combination of concentrated yet lightweight, the formula, which contains Vitamin C, a host of antioxidants and Avocado Oil, sinks into the skin in a flash, leaving you with hydrated, glowing skin for up to 12 hours after application. Genius.
