If some of the backdrops look familiar in this season’s Westworld, that’s because parts of it were filmed in Singapore. Back for its third season, joining the cast is Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul who is joining Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood.
Self Made: Inspired by the life of Madam C.J Walker
Streaming on Netflix from 20th March is one of this year’s most anticipated new releases. Based on the true life story of Madam C.J Walker who was an African-American haircare entrepreneur and America’s first self-made millionaire, Madam Walker didn’t just revolutionise black haircare thanks to her products, she also used her status to fight for social justice. Starring Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer, Blair Underwood and Tiffany Haddish, this is one not to miss.
Noughts & Crosses
Available on BBC iPlayer is the adaptation of Malorie Blackmans novels. Focusing on alternative history, the show reimagines historical events and deals with race, class and legacy.
Little Fires Everywhere
Based on the best-selling novel by Celeste Ng, Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington star in this new drama. Focusing on the picture-perfect lives of the Richardson family and a mother and daughter duo who decide to shake up their lives, we guarantee cult watching for this one.
High Fidelity
Based on Nick Hornby’s book of the same name, this romantic comedy brings to life all of Hornby’s subtle wit and charms. With Zoe Kravitz in the main role, it’s scheduled to be released late this year.
Mrs America
Delving into the true story of American lawyer, Phyllis Schlafly, it highlights her movement to stop the ratification of the equal rights amendment in America on the 1970s. With a cast that includes Rose Bryne and Cate Blanchett, the gripping drama is set over nine parts.
