Marina Bay Sands enters final phase of design enhancements

Exciting news from Marina Bay Sands.

The iconic Singaporean destination is gearing up for a major expansion project, set to enhance its already impressive offerings. Led by the renowned Safdie Architects, the expansion is poised to redefine luxury hospitality and entertainment experiences in Asia. Scheduled to kick off construction by July 2025 and anticipated to be completed by July 2029, the expansion will feature a slew of exciting additions. Picture this: a stunning luxury hotel tower with a sky roof, a cutting-edge 15,000-seat entertainment arena, and an array of premium MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) spaces. And let's not forget about the tantalising new food and beverage options and vibrant nightlife offerings that will undoubtedly elevate the Marina Bay Sands experience.

One of the most anticipated features of the expansion is the state-of-the-art arena, poised to become the leading live entertainment venue in Asia. With world-class hospitality experiences in mind, the arena is set to attract top entertainers from across the globe, putting Singapore squarely on the map as a must-visit concert destination. But it's not just about entertainment – Marina Bay Sands' expansion will also play a crucial role in boosting inbound travel to Singapore. By attracting top-tier events and conferences, the additional MICE space will help position Singapore as a premier destination for international gatherings.

In the words of Patrick Dumont, President and Chief Operating Officer of Marina Bay Sands’ parent company, Las Vegas Sands, "With the ongoing support of the Singapore Government, this development will further enhance the leisure and business tourism appeal of Singapore." It's clear that Marina Bay Sands is committed to driving high-value tourism growth and solidifying its status as a global destination. In addition to the expansion project, Marina Bay Sands is also undergoing a massive reinvestment in its existing property. With a staggering US$1.75 billion earmarked for refurbishments and enhancements, the resort is poised to offer an even more luxurious and immersive experience for guests.

Since its opening in 2010, Marina Bay Sands has been a cornerstone of Singapore's tourism sector, welcoming over 470 million visitors and hosting more than 1,750 new-to-Singapore MICE events. Not only has it bolstered Singapore's economy by creating thousands of jobs, but it has also provided vital support to local businesses, including small- and medium-sized enterprises. As Marina Bay Sands embarks on this exciting new chapter, one thing is clear: the future of luxury hospitality and entertainment in Asia has never looked brighter.
