Asia Best Bars 51-100

With just one week to go before the awards ceremony that will reveal Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022, sponsored by Perrier, 50 Best today releases the bars voted onto the extended 51- 100 list for the second year in a row.

The ranking is created from the overall Asia’s 50 Best Bars voting process and comes as part of 50 Best’s strategy to shine a spotlight on a greater number of hospitality establishments across the region.

The 51-100 list: A Snapshot

• This year’s 51-100 list includes bars spanning 24 different cities across Asia

• Japan and Singapore lead the way with 9 bars each on the list • Hong Kong boasts 5 bars, with Bangkok, Seoul and Taipei close behind, each represented by 4 bars

• Nepal marks its debut to the list with Blackbird in Kathmandu at No.96

Mark Sansom, Director of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, says: “In 2021 we decided to extend the Asia’s 50 Best Bars ranking to include more bars that deserve to be recognised for the remarkable drinking experience they provide their guests. We continue that tradition for the second year in our endeavour to support the region’s bar industry as it emerges with extraordinary resilience from the pandemic’s struggles and challenges. As countries open up and gastronomic travel resumes, it gives us great pleasure to recommend double the number of establishments that visitors should seek out and experience. To be able to reference 24 different cities across Asia can only be a good thing.”

Japan, which dominated the 2021 extended list, has nine appearances on the 51-100 ranking this year, spread across seven of its towns. Ark Lounge from Aomori leads the pack at No.67 (climbing 27 places from last year’s No.94). Other bars on the 2022 list include Cocktail Bar Nemanja at No.72, The Sailing Bar at No.74, Bar Rocking Chair at No.79, Bar Landscape at No.80, High Five at No.85, The Bellwood at No.87, Barossa Cocktailier in Gifu at No.92 and Bar D in Fujisawa at No.94.

Singapore secures nine spots on the list, an increase from last year’s seven. Leading the pack on the 51- 100 list from Singapore is D.Bespoke at No.58, which isfollowed by Smoke & Mirrors at No.60, Papa Doble Bar (formerly The Old Man) at No.61, Live Twice at No.65, Origin Grill & Bar at No.66, Shin Gi Tai at No.75, Employees Only at No.77, Barbary Coast at No.95 and Junior The Pocket Bar at No.98.
