Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024: Singapore leads the list with nine entries

We might be small, but when it comes to dining, we sure are mighty.

While most of their cutting might be in the kitchen, the coveted awards for Asia's best restaurants certainly are cut-throat as each year, more and more restaurants pop up and vy for a top spot.

This year's top spot was nabbed by Sézanne in Tokyo which was praised for its neo-French cuisine, showcasing modern classics combined with the very finest Japanese ingredients. It was a sweet win for the restaurant as last year they were just pipped to the post, coming in at number two.

But when it comes to the awards we are interested in, Singapore most certainly made us proud with an impressive nine accolades. Unsurprisingly, Odette was in the lead, coming in at number ten - something chef Julien Royer can be proud of as his restaurant now boasts a top ten spot since 2017. Next was Burnt Ends, which was up from 24th place to number 15 this year, followed by Jason Tan's 'gastro botanica' at Euphoria which came in at number 20. Yet another French restaurant came in at number 25 in the form of Born while Malay newcomer, Seroja, not only came in at number 31, but won this year's Highest New Entry Award. Moving on, Meta was at number 28, Labyrinth at 30, Les Amis at number 38 and newcomer Lolla at 43.

William Drew, Director of Content at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, says: “It is truly uplifting to witness such a rich array of exceptional dining establishments spanning 19 cities in Asia, including eight exciting newcomers. We extend our sincere congratulations to the esteemed restaurants featured on this year’s ranking — a true example of the vibrancy and diversity of Asia's culinary landscape."
