Singapore Based Booking App Chope Raises $13 Million

The Singapore based online restaurant booking service have recently raised $13 million dollars in their latest round of funding.

Since 2011, Chope has steadily been changing the way we book restaurants. Now one of the most widely used booking platforms in Singapore, Chope boasts over 3,000 clients across Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong and Phuket and their strong hold looks set to get even stronger thanks to a recent boost of funding back by the likes of Singapore Press Holdings, Susquehanna International Group and DSG Consumer Partners.

Talking of the recent round of funding, Chope said that their plans were to use the funding to strengthen their offerings by bettering customer support, creating a larger salesforce and working on new innovations.

Speaking of the recent fundings, Arrif Aiaudeen, CEO of Chope, said: "Chope looks forward to our next round of growth with this new capital and strategic partnership. With these resources, we are positioned to invest significantly in our USPs of user experience and customer service, while deepening our reach into our markets across Asia. We are now targeting profitability between late 2018 and early 2019." While Tushar Roy, Partner at international venture capital firm Square Peg Capital, who led the funding, said: "We are impressed by Chope's success in capturing a leading position in Asia's most attractive, growing dining markets in the premium dining segment. Chope offers a compelling service to both restaurants and diners, and we are excited to contribute our expertise and capital to substantially expand the business."
