Singapore Medical Group Ltd Buys Share In Leading Australian Fertility Clinic

With falling rates of fertility worldwide, Singapore makes major strides in becoming a world leader in fertility solutions.

Much as been said of late over the demise of natural fertility, with estimates stating that worldwide, since 1960 fertility has almost halved. Combined with the fact that couples on average are leaving starting a family to later in life and you have on your hands a real crisis of fertility worldwide.

Which is why Singapore Medical Group Ltd has bought a 13 percent share in the leading Australian fertility clinic, City Fertility Clinic. Within this new deal, The Singapore Medical Group Ltd, alongside CHA, are set to acquire 65 percent of the Australia based company.

“A growing number of delayed pregnancies among women and rising awareness pertaining to infertility are driving aggressive growth in the global IVF market,” Singapore Medical Group Executive Director Beng Teck Liang recently stated.

Within Singapore, fertility rates have fallen to just 1.5 births per woman, with experts considering that at the lower end of normal, especially compared to Australia, where rates see fertility at 1.8.
