Valentino Launch #ValentinoEmpathy

A change in direction for the latest men’s and women’s Autumn/Winter 2020-2021 campaign

In a time when social distancing and remote working have become the norm, just how does a luxury fashion label shoot their latest campaign? Well, taking inspiration from the world around them, Valentino Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, has tapped into his love of creating exclusivity through his collections to create a campaign that deals with our current situation in the most beautiful way.

Believing that although many of us are missing that essential human touch as we go through periods of self-isolation and lockdowns, we are always connected through mutual empathy thanks to the fact we all have such complex emotions and energies. It is his belief that we will all emerge stronger thanks to the inbuilt connections we all have and through this, he has created this unique new campaign.

Calling on an exclusive cast of faces including artists, models and friends of the Maison, the likes of Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Shu Qi, Tang Yan, Gwyneth Paltrow and Laura Dern, each individual shot is in the place where each of the artists is living at this current time and while they are each wearing looks from the latest Valentino campaign, the pictures are taken by someone they are self-isolating with, someone they have an intimate relationship with, to bring that added emotion to the shot.

And with the world facing such troubled times, each of the participants has donated their fee to the Italian Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in Rome, the Italian hub for fighting Covid-19 and a hospital that Valentino has already donated two Million Euros to so far.
